Pastor William A. Covington

William A. Covington is the founder and Senior Pastor of Grace Cathedral in 2001. He and First Lady Julia are the proud parents of two daughters, three lovely granddaughters, and one grandson. Pastor Covington accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior in 1974 at the Greater Lighthouse Church under the late Bishop Joseph W. Bryan [his father in the gospel]. Answered the call to preach in 1976 and was ordained in 1978 by the late Apostle Smallwood Williams (Bibleway Worldwide). Pastor Covington has earned two “Certificate in Expository Preaching” from the E.K. Bailey International Preaching Conference; two “Certificates of Ministry Leadership” from Regent University in conjunction with the Board of Directors of Project Bridges; received his Associate of Science in Bible and Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies Degrees from Lancaster Bible College and is a member of Delta Epsilon Chi - Honor Society. Pastor Covington has journeyed on several short-term missions trips with First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG) to the Ukraine; Nanjemoy, MD; Cuba; New Orleans, LA; Burkina Faso, West Africa and Peru; and as also served with FBCG’s Prison Ministry at Hagerstown and Patuxent, MD Men’s Correction Facilities and Central Union Mission.
